An Indian woman burned her 2-month-old baby to death after her husband accused her of being unfaithful.
According to the Times of India, the woman, Gangamani, told Nizamabad police at Kotagiri mandal headquarters she doused her infant daughter with kerosene and set her on fire while she slept in the house yesterday.
The woman said she decided to kill her child because her husband, Ravinder, refused to accept the little girl. He suspected his wife was unfaithful. The couple had quarreled over the baby before the infant was set on fire. Read the rest of this entry »

China Arnold has been convicted by a court in Ohio for murdering her one-month-old daughter (Paris Talley) by burning her to death in a microwave in 2005 after a fight with her boyfriend.
The court will decided next Tuesday whether Arnold will face death.
The mother of the victim showed no emotion as the jury announced its guilty verdict.
Arnold’s cellmate said that she had confessed to her that she had put the baby in the microwave scared that her boyfriend would leave her if he found out that he was not the baby’s father.
Prosecutors said that they found the baby girl’s DNA inside the microwave.

BUENOS AIRES: In a gruesome act of murder and cannibalism, an Argentine man killed his father, removed the heart and kidneys, cooked them in a pot mixing garlic and parsley and ate them, EFE news agency reported Wednesday citing the police.The suspect, identified as Raul Ernesto Piñel, was arrested Sunday after he was found with blood-stained hands in his father’s house, located in the town of Daireaux, a city in Buenos Aires province.
“We have no doubt that this man ate the heart and kidneys of his father. They only found a few scraps (of flesh left) in the pot,” a police spokesperson said on Tuesday.The 33-year-old Piñel had recently been released on furlough from the Urdampilleta prison, where he was serving a sentence for robbery.

The Beijing Olympics got off to a rough start as a crazed attacker assailed two American tourists and a Chinese tour guide with a knife this morning, killing a man and wounding two women. The murder victim was a relative of the U.S. men’s volleyball coach. The assailant committed suicide after the attack, according to authorities, throwing himself off the 45-meter Drum Tower. U.S. softball player Laura Berg and USOC spokesman respond to the tragedy after the jump.
