Helsinki, Finland – The renowned cellular phone company Nokia has introduced its answer to Apple Inc’s iPhone. The new touch-screen mobile phone is the Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic.
Nokia said on Thursday the phone is, or soon will be, available in selected markets globally, including Russia, Spain, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Finland.
Nokia said last month the model will cost 279 euros ($360) before operator subsidies and taxes, substantially less than the iPhone. Read the rest of this entry »
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — A Polish mobile operator said Friday it had hired actors to stand in line to buy Apple Inc.’s iPhone as the ubiquitous device went on sale for the first time in the Eastern European country.
The company, Orange, said it hired the fake iPhone customers as a way to stimulate interest in the mobile device, which has generated huge and genuine demand in the United States, Japan, Germany and elsewhere.
“It was a part of our marketing strategy, the concept was thought up at Orange Poland,” the company told The Associated Press in an e-mail. “The aim was to ‘warm up’ the atmosphere around the launch of the iPhone.”
The phone was also being launched Friday by a second mobile operator, Era.
The iPhone keeps getting better and better because it has multiplayer Pong and to top it the iPhone may be the most technologically advanced cellphone in the world right now. It even has mobile YouTube and other internet features like Google Map, Facebook, etc. making it an all-rounder.
