The feet of monk Hua Chi are seen close to the footprints made by him by praying at the same spot for decades, at a monastery near Tongren, Qinghai province in China. Hua Chi, who believes he is around 70 years old, has prayed at the same spot so many times that perfect footprints remain on the wooden doorstep. The monk and doctor of traditional medicine has been coming to the small temple in the monastery town of Tongren in China’s western Qinghai province for nearly twenty years to perform a strict personal ritual. Every day, before sunrise, Hua arrives at the temple steps, placing his feet onto his footprints as he bends down to kowtow a few thousand times before walking around the temple.

Thursday Aug 28, 2008
While most cats are known for their ability to land on their feet, some in China may soon be able to glide to safety on their mysterious wings.
A tabby from the Qingyan province in China recently sprouted a pair of fur-covered wings on his back during a hot-weather spell, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported.
Immediately, the unique kitty became a spectacle to behold, as visitors flocked to see the unusual feline.
One cat owner, identified only as Feng, claimed her pet’s wings were the result of stress from too many females desiring to mate with him, the Mail reported.
“At first they were just two bumps,” she told the Mail. “But they started to grow quickly and after a month there were two wings.”
But the owner later grew fearful that the tabby would either be stolen by envious admirers or that it would fly away and decided to cut one of the two flappers off, World Entertainment News Network said.

It is pretty common to seen uniform ad placement on participants in most sports and public events, but it might come as a bit of a shock to see a group of kids walking to school with advertisements all over their uniforms.
In KunMing Province, China, that is exactly what you are likely to see, as around 525 students have been issued sharp new orange uniforms covered in advertisements.
Students in Asia are required to wear school uniforms and it was obviously an opportunity companies like Vodafone, Shell, Ferrari, and even cigarette company Marlboro, just couldn’t pass on.

Thursday Aug 14, 2008As far as scale models go, I’m not sure you’ll ever find out quite as impressive as this absolutely enormous one depicting what Shanghai is supposed to look like in 2020. At over 1,000 square feet, it shows every single building in China’s most populated city, or at least every single building planned.
It’s on the third floor of the Shanghai Urban Planning Museum, and it is in fact the largest scale model of a city in the world. The attention to detail is absolutely astounding. And really, while it would be a shame to damage such amazing work, boy would I ever love to romp Godzilla-style through this thing. Maybe someday.
